Access Platform and Gangway for Truck and Railcar Fall Protection

Our Access Platforms provide safe access and fall protection while working on top of bulk/tank trucks, tank railcar, sea containers and hopper cars. Our OSHA compliant Access Platforms can be custom manufactured from carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel. CAI fall protection access platforms and gangways are available in fixed and portable models that are user friendly and safe to operate.

Often the process of climbing up the ladder of a railcar or finding your footing on a truck is more hazardous than doing the work once you are on top of the vehicle. To address this hazard we offer our Fall Protection Access Platforms and Aluminum Gangways.

Your application may require a platform to access a single or multiple railcars. We provide custom built Platforms & gangways that will provide Access over the specified area. Our Access Platforms come standard with a large Platform work surface, open serrated walking surface with grip strut stair threads and OSHA compliant stairway, handrail and toe board. Available in carbon steel (painted or galvanized) and stainless steel. A wide range of Gangway (link to gangway page) options are available. All our access platforms are OSHA and ANSI compliant.

Access Platform for Truck and Railcar Fall Protection Application

Here are some features and benefits of the CAI Access Platforms and gangways for trucks and railcars:

Single Truck or Railcar Access Platforms

		Provides safe access and fall protection to the top of single-dome tank/bulk trucks, tank cars and hopper cars. Equipped with a single pedestal platform, access stairway and access equipment. Features include easy installation and quick delivery. The Access Platform may be easily customized to meet your requirements.

		User Friendly: Large Platform work surface 4 feet wide and 6 feet long.

		Access Gangways: Allows user to safely transition between the top of the platform to the railcar or truck. Wide selections of access gangways (link to gangway page) are available for the Access Platforms including folding, extension and self leveling stairs.

		Dual Gangways: Single pedestal platforms can also be provided with dual gangways to allow the servicing of two trucks or railcars simultaneously.

Sliding Track Mounted Gangway for Truck or Railcar Access Platforms

		Access platform has sliding track to allow positioning of gangway as required. Ideal for trucks and railcars with multiple access hatches.

		Cover Long Spans: Slide track and access platform can range in span from 6 feet to 60 feet and can also be designed for different heights.

		Fall Protection: Three feet wide swing gates along the entire length of the platform provide access and safety.

		User Friendly: Slide track carriage designed with stainless steel wheels and easy to mount access equipment.

Portable Access Platform

		The Portable Access Platform provides safe access to the top of trucks and fall protection from the ground up. The Portable platform is designed to be easily positioned and moved by hand to your areas of need.

		The Portable Access Platform comes standard with the following features: Lower stationery section has “ships” ladder with grip strut threads for safety. Stationary base has four pneumatic wheels with brakes on the rear for mobility and positioning Unit is equipped with two telescoping level jacks for added stability and adjustment

		The Portable Access Platform comes standard with the following features: Upper platform adjusts manually from a 9’0” under clearance to 13’0” The upper platform height is raised by a cable winch which is operated from grade level for safety. Upper platform has neoprene bumpers on the outboard end to protect surface being worked on. Unit ships fully assembled with the exception of the safety enclosure.

Options for Access Platforms


		Construction and Finish: A variety of finishes are available: standard safety yellow enamel, and hot dipped galvanized. We also offer construction of the access platforms in carbon steel and stainless steel.

		Canopy Cover: All Access platforms are available with canopy covers to provide protection from the elements.
